Zero to Hero’s assignment for the day is to write and publish a “who I am and why I’m here” post. It seems a little out of kilter to be doing this as my third post, but I suppose that fits in with most things in my life!
As mentioned in my first post, I’m planning on completing Project 365 this year and I thought that actually writing about the pictures instead of just taking them and shoving them on the internet might give me more engagement with the project, making it more likely that I’ll complete it. Hopefully by December 31st I’ll have improved both in photography and writing, although it’s far more likely I’ll have a year’s worth of holiday-snap-quality photos and a lot of waffle. But at least I’ll have a day by day account of 2014, which is something, right?
What else? I’m female, less than 18 months away from 30, living and working in Oxfordshire. I like cats and am trying to get back into hobbycrafting, particularly knitting. As the picture above shows, I have at least succeeded in completing the Knit Kit I started earlier. Now that’s progress.
Another Christmas present, this time it’s a Knit Kit take out cup cosy. It’s been a while since I’ve knitted anything, so I was relieved to discover the kit contained instructions on how to do all the required stitches and, more importantly from my perspective, how to cast-on. Unfortunately the instruction weren’t particularly clear, or at least they weren’t clear to me, so yesterday and a large part of today was spent swearing at the poor, innocent yarn before I discovered knittinghelp.com, an absolute god-send of a website with lovely, lovely videos showing all the steps. Technically I do have knitting books somewhere, but I haven’t seen them since I moved to Oxfordshire and frankly it was far too much effort to look for them.
There we have it, the second day of Project 365 and a Daily Prompt entry bundled together in a strange sort of two posts for the price of one deal. I think that deserves a cup of flavoured coffee (hazelnut, naturally).
…wearing a very fetching and fantastically comfy slanket (blanket with sleeves, dontcherknow) that I was given for Christmas. Last year I found out about Project 365 after January 1st, which…was less than useful. I tried to do it anyway, but the fact that I wasn’t going to get a full 365 days’ worth of photos sort of put me off. So I am determined to complete the full year this time around and I won’t forget before the end of January. Honest.
